About the Authors
Carina Voges has worked as a teacher, school psychologist and principal in three different countries. Her areas of interest in education include school management, classroom teaching, the counselling of senior students, ortho-pedagogics and ortho-didactics (remedial teaching). She developed an assessment and tuition service for children with Specific Learning Disabilities in Christchurch (Train the Brain) in 2009. Currently she works on her own as an assessor and teacher.
Carine Bakker has experience teaching across all age groups, both in individual and small group settings and as a music teacher. Because of her interest in music, she developed and acute awareness of how students process sounds in music and language. She also loves to teach maths. She continues to study in this specialist area. Since moving to New Zealand in 2003, she has cared for people with intellectual disabilities and has been involved in remedial tutoring of children with learning disabilities since 2011.
